In 1967 Queen Mary was sold to become a hotel, museum and conference centre at Long Beach, California.  She was in service between 1934 and 1967, mostly on the Southampton to New York run. Taken by Murray Douglas.

Trans-Canada in the early1960s

Stanley Douglas travelling through the Rockies by Canadian Pacific Railways--looking like a character from an Ian Fleming novel. I don't suppose anyone travels that route in a 3-piece worsted suit these days.  (Obviously winter time - there's snow on those rocks).

1967 Dodge Coronet 440 convertible, VW Beetle, Saab, Dodge Dart and Fastback Mustang--pretty much sums up cars of the late 1960s in California. Taken by Murray Douglas in LA, 1968.

Right on the Beach

Two or three yards of grass and the sand is between your toes. Fish were caught off this deck.  The pohutukawa won a reprieve and became the centre-piece of the built in coffee table. There were always scraps of wood under the bach, suitable for making grass sleds and model boats.  Pity it was sold in the late 60s.

The Family Bach

Skinny Harbour Bridge
